multi-engine class rating - MECR

The aim of the course is to train the student to the level of knowledge and skill required to safely and effectively command a multi-engine piston aeroplane and to pass the ground examination and the Skill Test for the initial issue of a Multi-engine piston aeroplanes (Land) Class Rating for a UK or JAR Pilot’s Licence.

The ground training requirement is in accordance with JAR-FCL 1.261(a). The course entails a minimum of 7 hours of theoretical knowledge instruction in multi-engine aeroplane operation.

The flight training requirement is in accordance with JAR-FCL 1.261(b). The course entails 6 hours of instruction which shall be flight in a multi-engine aeroplane. This is to include at least 2 hours 30 minutes dual flight training under normal conditions and at least 3 hours 30 minutes of dual flight training in engine failure procedures and asymmetric flight techniques.

Training is conducted in one of our 2 Piper Seneca aircraft (G-PEGI, G-IFLP). The current rate is £378.25 + VAT per hour.
